Lenexa, Kan. – FAST® Systems, the
commercial division of Smith & Loveless Inc., will
introduce its newest on-board sewage treatment system at
the 2000 Work Boat Show in Atlanta, GA. Specially
designed for the workboat industry, the LX-Series
FAST® System has a lightweight
DOT certified tank design .
Ideal for harbor
tugs, fish boats, pilot boats, fireboats and tow boats,
the LX-Series has all of the larger FAST® Systems’
reliability engineered into this new smaller system. The
LX-Series requires no special training or expensive
spare parts. The best part of all, it requires no manual
cleaning.
The FAST® (Fixed Activated
Sludge Treatment) technology
comprises a tank packed with fixed media that is totally
submerged in sewage wastewater. The bacteria are
"fixed" or attached to the media, which
prevents hydraulic peaks from washing the bacteria out
and provides for a higher surface area to volume ratio.
This equates into a higher level of sewage treatment.
Fully certified by the US Coast Guard under 33 CFR Part
159 and IMO rules, FAST® was
originally developed for marine service. Today, FAST®
can be found around the globe in offshore, municipal,
industrial, commercial and residential applications. The
reason for FAST®’s success is its
ability to provide years of reliable trouble-free
service without adjustments or the need for a skilled
operator.
Also, FAST® is already capable of
meeting the next generation of sewage regulations. This
protects customers from changes in the regulations or
from individual foreign or local regulations which
exceed the minimum USCG certification requirements.
With more than 1500 FAST® installations
worldwide, FAST® Systems, the
commercial division of Smith & Loveless, is the
premier sewage treatment technology for the boating
industry.
